About the Show
Cape Town has a thousand tables.
We’re finding the right ones.
Table for Two is a YouTube show about eating out in Cape Town. Each episode, Russel Wasserfall and Jonathan Warncke visit a restaurant, eat the food, argue about it, and tell you whether it’s worth your time and money. No scores. No checklists. Just two very different palates trying to agree on lunch.
À la Carte
What you’ll find at our table
The Restaurant
We visit the restaurant, eat the food, and give you our unfiltered first impressions.
The People
We sit down with the chefs, owners, and teams who make it all happen.
The Argument
Two opinions, one table. We don’t always agree—and that’s the point.
The Verdict
Would we go back? Would we send a friend? The honest answer, every time.
Your Hosts
Two very different palates.

Russel Wasserfall
The One Who Knows
“I’ve spent two decades eating, writing about, and arguing over food in this city. I know what good looks like—I just don’t always agree with Jonathan about where to find it.”
Russel Wasserfall is a food journalist, critic, and the voice behind A Table in the Corner. With 20+ years in the industry, he brings a trained palate, deep relationships with chefs, and an encyclopaedic knowledge of Cape Town’s dining scene to every episode.

Jonathan Warncke
The One Who Eats
“I can’t tell you the difference between a jus and a reduction, but I can tell you if I’d come back on a Friday night and pay full price. That’s the only review that matters.”
Jonathan Warncke is a producer, filmmaker, and self-described “professional eater.” He doesn’t come from the food world—he comes from the audience. His job on the show is to ask the questions a regular diner would ask, and to be honest when something doesn’t live up to the hype.
